Amsterdam flight
AMSTERDAM FLIGHTS
Schiphol is a European mainport, competing in passenger and cargo throughput with London Heathrow Airport in England, Frankfurt International Airport in Germany and Charles de Gaulle International Airport serving Paris, France. In 2006, Schiphol handled 46,065,719 passengers, ranking fourth in Europe behind London, Paris and Frankfurt. Almost 35% of its passengers traveled on intercontinental flights.
Amsterdam canals, bridges and houseboats
Canals, Bridges and Houseboats
Everyday Amsterdam's water canals are lively with boats, barges, sailing and rowing boats, motor boats and tour boats. Not all of them are used for transport, some of them are real house-boats, used both by those who enjoy an original type of accomodation and those who have difficulty in finding an apartment. There is a limited number of house-boats that are allowed to stay on the canals, so it is not possible for anyone to just anchor and live there.

Van Gogh museum Amsterdam
Van Gogh Museum
If you only visit one art gallery on your visit to Amsterdam... it has to be this one, a gallery dedictated to Van Gogh... There will be hundreds of others around you but you can just lose yourself in the paintings... it's amazing.
Heineken Brewery - Amsterdam
Heineken Brewery
One of the must see place for all you malt lovers out there :) The original Heineken brewery in Amsterdam, dating from 1930. Between 1930-1988 this famous (and very good indeed) beer was made right on this spot. Now on the building is the Heineken Experience beer museum. Inside, for an admission price of 10 EUR (the ticket) you can discover the secret of making one of the best beers in the world.
Rijskmuseum - Amsterdam
Rijksmuseum
A must See tip here has to be the Rijksmuseum. Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Hals are the most exciting painters on view (for me, anyway), plus there's Delftware and doll houses. It was great to experience these paintings with my own eyes. The Vermeers especially were a real treat! Right now the museum is mostly closed for major renovations through 2008, but they've kept one wing open during this long process, and it's filled with Dutch masterpieces from the 17th century. BONUS - this museum allows you to take pictures inside, without flash
